Yes, all of my pieces created for functional use are food safe. Vases and whimsical pieces may not be food safe. Any functional pieces not food safe WILL be labeled as such.

YES! All of my pieces are microwave AND dishwasher safe. One caution is to avoid citrus-based cleaners as they may damage the glaze.

While pottery pieces are oven safe, it is NOT recommended to use above 350/400 degrees as it may damage the piece.

PLEASE NOTE...Because of thermal shock, do not place your pottery piece in extreme hot/cold environments, such as freezer or already hot oven.

As a reminder, NEVER place pottery piece in a preheated oven...instead place in a cold oven and allow the piece to warm at the same time as the oven. It is best to heat slowly and evenly.

When removing from hot oven, place on a room temperature surface, such as a wooden trivet/cutting board or a towel.

Also, allow the pottery piece to cool before rinsing or cleaning.

Staining can occur if food is stored in the pieces. Acidic foods, such as tomato sauce, can leave stains. Functional ceramic pieces are best used for serving, not storing. If stains occur, it is best to use baking soda and a soft scrubbier.
